A preview  of the Workbook

Once the content of your book settles in your mind and makes sense, you’ve got several options for your next steps. You may consider inviting someone to walk through the chapters with you. Having an outside perspective brings in fresh energy. Your options include reaching out for a friend edit, hiring a writing coach, or working with a developmental editor who is skilled at helping you see the gaps and tighten the premise to ensure your solid foundation for your writing project.

Choose Your Next Steps

PART 4

Your aim in Part Three is to write a summary statement or premise for each chapter to communicate the fundamental concept of that chapter. The premise for each chapter clarifies the content and guides your planning. This step helps you identify and refine the reader’s journey through your book content with the goal to fulfill the promise you make to your readers. When you view your chapters as a whole, you can step back and look at the big picture to be certain each chapter meets your reader’s needs and is presented in a way that makes sense.

Structure the Content of Each Chapter

PART 3

Once you clarify the vision for your book, you continue the mapping process by creating a chapter outline. Starting with a brainstorm session, you get all the ideas out of your head and onto paper where you can see what you have and work with it. You’ll have the chance to describe the journey you want to take your reader on. What changes does your reader desire to see in their lives? How does your book content support the transformation they’re looking for? By creating provisional chapter titles, you’ll be ready to structure the content of each chapter.

Identify the Chapters in Your Book

PART 2

You begin by creating a simple book map to help clarify the vision for your nonfiction book idea. Understanding the vision builds a solid foundation before you outline the content of your book. You will create a working title and premise that summarizes what your book is about, who it is for, and why they will be interested in your message. Gaining a deeper understanding of your purpose and the needs you meet in your reader’s lives helps you decide your unique angle that will help your book stand out in the crowd.
